How to file a complaint

If you're dissatisfied about our counseling, a person or an experience, you can send a complaint to us via e-mail or post. Read below how you can file a complaint.

Who Can File a Complaint?

Anyone who has been in contact with LGBT Asylum’s work can submit a complaint.

We encourage you to let us know immediately if you have a negative experience with us so that we can respond quickly.

What Can I Complain About?

You can, for example, file a complaint about:

  • Inadequate counseling, guidance, or psychosocial support.
  • The behavior of volunteers, i.e., how they conduct themselves.
  • Specific experiences with one or more individuals who did not meet the expectations we set on our website or in announcements.

What Can’t I Complain About?

You cannot file complaints about practical matters such as location, waiting times, or opening hours.

How to Submit a Complaint

Complaints must be in writing and can be sent to the general secretary by email or post. If you would like a response, please include your contact information. However, this is entirely voluntary.

What Should My Complaint Include?

We recommend using the following template as a guide when writing your complaint, so we have the necessary information to process it:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • What would you like to complain about?
  • What would you have preferred instead?
  • What do you expect from us now?

Send your complaint to:
Email: klage@lgbtasylum.dk
Postal Address: LGBT Asylum, Lavendelstræde 1, 1462 Copenhagen.

When Will I Receive a Response to My Complaint?

We will respond to your complaint as quickly as possible. The reply will include information about the further handling of your complaint. During summer and Christmas holidays, the response time may be longer as we are closed during these periods.
